Kiroro
|
Kiroro consists of two girls: Tamashiro Chiharu (vocals) and Kinjo Ayano (keyboard).
Their songs are generally slower ballads, with a few slightly faster paced songs.
The songs are filled with an emotion and energy not often seen in many groups.
As often times as not, they sound just as good, if not better, with only a piano
and Chiharu singing as with a full band surrounding them
Their laid back style of songs are great for relaxing and listening to. I highly
recommend them if you like such type of songs.

Kubota Toshinobu
|
Toshi's music is heavy influenced with an R&B and soul groove. Originally born
in Japan, Toshi's musical style was influenced by his move to New York. There
his music gained a more "American" R&B feel to it.
His albums have an undeniable groove to them, and Toshi's soulful voice only adds
to the mix. Fans of R&B and soul would definitely be driven to Toshi's style

Kuraki Mai
|
One of the new "darlings" in the JPop/R&B music scene, Kuraki Mai's
popularity is quickly risings. Her songs and music consists of an
R&B and dance feel with a good dance beat. Her first album was one
of the highest selling albums in Japan ever, even topping the likes of
Utada Hikaru and Amuro Namie.
Being that she is still very young, many good things are expected from her
in the future.

L'Arc~en~ciel
|
L'Arc~en~Ceil is one of the most popular bands in Japan right now. Although they
are categorized as a "rock" band, their style actually has a wide range. From
Pop, to Gothic sounding, to rock, to slow ballads, and even remixed Euro beat sounding
tunes, L'arc doesn't really fit into a single category.
Add to that, the very unique sound of their lead singer, Hyde's, voice, and you have a
group that is unlike any other. Their popluarity continues to be maintained at a high
level. They are even releasing an American version of their "Best" album.

Luna Sea
|
Luna Sea is another very popular rock band in Japan. They have been going strong
for about 10 years now, since they were discovered by the lead singer of X-Japan.
Their style is all out rock (with a few slower songs thrown in for good measure).
Unlike other bands, there is no real "leader" of Luna Sea. They all consider each
other equals. While each of their albums tends to have a slightly different sound,
Luna Sea has a pretty constant and consistent feel to them.
