Aikawa Nanase
|
Nanase is good ole rock at its finest. From the first song I heard of her's, I've
really liked her style of music. It's got a basic rock feel (kind of an
80's rock sound) and has a great sound to it. But, to get the true "feel" of her
music, you really should hear/see her perform live. She really puts all her energy
into her singing while on stage. After seeing her '97 Live Emotion concert, I was
totally hooked.

Amuro Namie
|
Before her year long hiatus to have her son, Amuro Namie was at the top of the JPop
world. Originally a part of the group the Supermonkeys, Amuro's talents were
recognized, and she was catapulted into a solo careers. With songs ranging from
dance to hiphop to R&B to Eurobeat, with a touch of some experimental sounds, Amuro
became one of the most famous artists of her time. Since her return, Amuro's music
has changed from the upbeat dance tunes, to a much more matured sound. Although
her popularity has waned a little, Amuro still continues to come out with excellent
material

Ayumi Hamasaki
|
Originally a model, Ayumi broke into JPop a few years ago, and
has quickly gotten better and better. Her voice talents have vastly improved since she
started her career in music. With a sound that is a bit of a mix of dance and techno,
Ayumi has gained popularity. And whether it comes from her days as a model or not,
it seems like everytime you see Ayumi (on TV, in a magazine, or in a video) she has a
COMPLETELY different "look". Fans beware though, she has about 3 zillion remix albums
out there. :)

The Brilliant Green
|
The Brilliant Green is one of those groups that probably should get more acclaim
than they actually do. Their music has a basic rock feel to it with a little
alternative rock mixed in.
I personally have always been a fan of bands with a female lead singer.
I just like the way it sounds with the music (i.e. Garbage, Little
Sister), and Brilliant Green is the same way. Worth checking out if
you like that style.

B'z
|
B'z sound can best be described as heavy, guitar-driven rock. They have been around for
many years, and don't seem to be slowing down at all. Their albums almost always rise to
the top of the charts as soon as they are released. B'z was the first Japanese rock group
that I really heard and I have been a fan of them ever since. Although, some of their songs
tend to blend together, they will often come out with that one song that just is awesome.
