Some skills may be operated as a default from other skills. To find the relationship between two skills, see the expanded skill description. A character may choose to build a skill up from a default level. To calculate a skill level in this case, add the number of learning points the character has actually put into the skill with the minimum number of points necessary to grant the default skill level. This effective total is used to calculate the skill level. Note if a character has two skills which default to each other, and has learning points in both skills, then one may only be defaulted from the skill with the higher learning point total. Likewise, a skill built from another craft's default may not exceed the original skill's level. A character may eventually put enough points into a skill which was originally based on default that the skill makes up for the default base and is progressed on its own.
