With the end of the Fushigi Yuugi OVAs, Watase Yuu has come up with another way to keep her loyal fans....well, loyal. Namely, the FY novel series. The first six and last three books center around a seishi's life before the coming of Miaka and Yui, although sometimes they stretch past that point as well. The books also briefly feature an additional seishi as well (Ashitare in the Nuriko book, Tamahome in the Tasuki book, etc). In each book we learn a little bit more about our favorite seishis' pasts...Nuriko being picked for the royal harem, Chichiri's past with Hikou and Korin, Hotohori's ascension to the throne, Nakago's past with the Hin tribe and the Koutu Emperor, etc.

The 7^th & 8^th books in the series, called Eikouden, take place after the events of the 2^nd OVA series and begins with Miaka and Taka's wedding. Watase Yuu described a basis for these two books as a "what if...a fangirl ended up in the ShiJinTenChiSho?" These two novels form the basis for the 3^rd OVA series.

The 12^th & 13^th books center on the adventures of Chichiri and Tasuki after the end of the tv series (Part 1 of the manga). They adventure to gather the Shinzahos left by previous Miko(s). Unfortunately, I don't have a scanner anymore so I cannot scan the pics from these novels...I'm working on another solution. sorry.
