Hikitsu's Page

Welcome to my Hikitsu page. Hikitsu is a seishi of Genbu, who protected Okuda Takiko, Genbu No Miko, 200 years earlier than Miaka's entrance to the book. Hikitsu is a very cool looking guy although not much is known about him due to his small part in the show. With the creation of the Genbu Kaiden manga, I will add info about Hikitsu once his character appears and develops.

As said above, Hikitsu was an active seishi for Genbu no Miko 200 years ago. When Genbu no Miko called Genbu and went back to her world, she left a shinzaho (an item worn during the summoning that became a relic). Hikitsu, along with Tomite, was chosen...or volunteered, we don't know for sure...for the duty of protecting it until another worthy Miko came along to claim it. By the time that Miaka et al appeared before him, 200 years had passed and his physical body had since been reclaimed by the earth, leaving Hikitsu as an insubstantial spirit...yet still retaining his seishi powers. A deadly combination. Hikitsu seems to be the more forth-coming of the two Genbu seishi, talking freely once Miaka had proved herself

Genbu Kaiden Managa Info
Hikitsu's name was known as somewhat of a legendary figure to Tomite. They knew each other somewhat before their village was attacked by ice creatures. Hikitsu was thought to have stopped the creatures, and then disappeared. Hikitsu can control water, and to a small extent freeze it. He also has the ability to peer into someone's soul when he looks upon them with his seishi symbol-marked eye.

***SPOILER WARNING*** (for manga vol. 4)
It turns out that Hikitsu stayed at the old, frozen over village because his sister had been trapped in a huge slab of ice, along with the ice monsters. We find out that it had actually been Tomite who created the ice that entrapped the monsters, as well as Hikitu's sister. Tomite had blocked out the memory because his father died during the attack.
