Okay, finally got some good scans of my original lot of drawings. i feel better now. ^_^ Okay,
i also have /finally/ got my scanner and some more drawings even!
BTW, the first pics of Tomo and Hotohori were copied and sent to be in a
scrapbook that the FYML was
forming to present to Watase Yuu (series creator) at AnimeExpo in June '98.
The pic of Tomo dancing was also sketched onto a fabric square to be included in a quilt
the FYML made and presented to Watase Yuu at Animazement 99.
(i changed the format to text links to save on loading times)
These are in chronological order of when they were drawn
- Hotohori - This one was my
first attempt, taken from a manga
pic. I think it turned out okay, except for the fact that he looks
scared. i screwed up something in the eyes.
- Tomo - This was my second
attempt also taken from a manga pic. i like this one alot, i think it turned out very well.
- Tasuki - This was my
third attempt that same night that i did the Hotohori and the Tomo, and as you can see, i was
getting really tired. As a result, it isn't as good as the rest in my opinion. but here it is
because i got a good scan of it ^_^
- Cool-looking guy -
Okay, you got me this isn't FY fanart it's just some guy i drew while waiting in a room with a
whiteboard. but i thought he looked cool, so i took a pic of him before he got erased.
- Aburutsubo Ayanjo
- Okay, this isn't fY fanart either it's Ayanjo from Mahou Tsukai Tai! he's allowed here because
his seiyuu is Koyasu Takehito. i
generally like this one, although i thought i lost something in the face again.
- Tomo2 - This is a very
silly drawing inspired by the new Spam Police from the FYML. Basically, the spam police are
nyan nyan versions of the seishi, so i tried my hand at a Nyan Nyan Tomo. unfortunately the
results aren't that great.
-
Nuriko - This is a cool little pic of Nuriko from the cover of the second artbook. i like the
shading on this one.
-
Nuriko2 - This is a cool pic taken from the bare-chested pic of all the seishi from the
second artbook. i like it except that his head is a little flat.
-
Hotohori2 - This one was also taken from the bare-chested seishi pic. i like it, except i
had a little of a hard time shading the hair realistically.
- Tomo3 - This is my first
attempt at totally free-hand fanart (i usually use a model drawing to work off of). i think
it's okay, you can tell who it is and such, but the articles of clothing clash with eachother
(chinese shirt, pants, and boots?). oh well, i'll keep on trying.
-
Tomo4 - This was a modification piece i did of one of the tomo manga pics. i basically
wanted to show him with more chest showing (H_H) and with this hair down. i like it, i just
wish i could draw arms and other stuff well so that i could have finished the pic.
- Tomo4 colored version
- This, of course, is the colorized version of the above pic. i used my Badtz-maru colored
pencils and a good ol' number 2 pencil (for the hair). it turned out alright, although i screwed
up a little on his mouth...i was trying to give him a little lip color and it turned out too
much, then i tried to erase it (they are pencils after all), and it didn't work. sigh.
oh well.
-
Tomo5 - I know i forgot to add his chin paint, but oh well, i think it looks good without it.
i rather like this one, i think it's something in the eyes, etc. this is obviously a younger
portrayal of tomo (or at least, that's what it turned out to be)
- Nakago?! - This one
turned out to be nakago (or at least a guy that i think looks like nakago). right now, i'
m on a 'collar-bone' phase, i draw them a lot. i'm also working on drawing better hair, this pic
shows both of those ambitions.
-
Tomo6 - This one is alright. i like the hair and the outfit more than i like the face...but
hey, it's still tomo...
- Tomo7 - This pic was
inspired by my conversations with
Destiny no Miko, we were discussing
Tomo and the fact that he used to be a dancer before becoming caught up with the Seiryuu Seishi.
So, this led my mind to start thinking about Tomo dancing and you see the result. In general I
like this picture, I know I still can't draw hands for crap, but the rest of the body
actually looks okay...and i didn't screw up the face (for which i was very grateful)...
-
Loin-cloth guy - Well, this one follows in my current trend of trying to draw chests,
collar-bones, and hair better. i like it...alot (H_H) The loin cloth was definately for fun...i
didn't want to be drawing a naked guy!
- Tomo8 - Yet another
Tomo . . . I like this one. Kinda serene and reflective. I do realize that his chest is too big
for his body...or his head is too small, something in the perspective is off. But, i like it.
