Tomo Cosplay

Okay, that's too strict a title...how about, Fushigi Yuugi Cosplay featuring Tomo. ^_^
Right now this mostly consists of pics a fellow Tomo-lover sent me of her and her friend dressed as Soi and Tomo. Since Sarah (Soi) was nice enough to write comments on the back of every pic, i've decided to include them.

ALSO, during the '98 Anime Expo convention, FY series creator Watase Yuu was present and so was our Tomo and Soi. although i don't have pics of them with Watase Yuu (which i know they have a few of), i do have a scan borrowed (with permission, of course) from Venkarel's page, which is a scan from Watase Yuu's newest manga, Ayashi no Ceres, where Watase-sensei described her trip to Expo. i've taken the scan of when Watase-sensei was remarking on the people in costume and specifically mentioned the Soi and Tomo pair...our very own Sarah and Alex! exciting! and remember, you saw them here first!

Might as well get this pic out of the way. A pretty old pic of some japanese fans dressed as tomo, nakago, yui, miaka, and chiriko. BTW, i really like the Yui costume a lot.

"this is us before we transformed..." not much to say yet..."hi"
"okay, here's the full costume" COOL! tomo's even got his shin. pretty smooth
"doesn't this remind you of Sailor Uranus and Neptune?" i like this pose a lot...it fits the relationship tomo and soi are supposed to have. very in character.
"okay, so her feet are cutoff, but it's a good shot" very smooth, again a good in-character pose. my only reservation about the tomo costume is the feathers...too bad they couldn't find big stiff real feathers. oh well, it's still a good costume.
"just so you can see the back" very cool, the hair looks great.
"Tomo does commercials for Selection rootbeer" Alright, i knew tomo had good taste...rootbeer is yummy. ^_^
"damn, this is stupid..." no, it's not ^_^ it looks great!
"isn't my butt lovely? (just kidding)" kakaka...it looks great...the costume that is
"Soi doesa commercial for colgate(tm)" kakaka...it seems our intrepid cosplayers were getting into a silly mood.
"what can i say? i'm a ballet dancer!" yes, quite flexible...i imagine the real soi would be too (but for other reasons)...^_^;
"we couldn't resist. do you /really/ think soi and tomo would dance a tango???" nope, most likely not but hey it's fun anyways. i like this pic a lot, it's rather cute and playful.
