What:

This is my fansub distributor database. It has four main lists.
Those four lists could all contain the same data, but I have some fields turned off for easier viewability.
They are just sorted differently (by distrubutor name, anime title, cost/3 VHS tapes, and the time I last updated their entry).
The purple bullets, , are used to go between the four lists. If it is in the table cell that contains the anime title, it will go to that entry in the anime sorted list.
If it is in the cell that contains the distro name, it will go to that entry in the subber sorted list.

The green bullets, , are used to go to a link that has some extra information about a certian entry. Sometimes the info is useful, other times it is not. Regardless, I put it there...it's for you to find out :)

The red bullets, , are used to specify that a certain anime has been picked up domestically and it'll link to that company's homepage if I know what it is.

Columns which have an entry that says n/a mean that service doesn't exist so I can't list a value for it.

When the SASE Cost/3 Tapes column says it's free, that means there is no added charge. You will still have to provide your own tapes and pay for your own shipping both ways, unless otherwise specified. If it says free, limited then it means there is some kind of restriction. An example of that is if someone is only distributing Lupin Gang Anime titles via SASE and everything else is via money Request.

When Max Tapes/Request says none, that means there's no maximum number I could see on the distributor's homepage.

When there are multiple possible answers, I'll usually put a / on them. For example, sometimes the max number of tapes someone will accept is 3 unless you request Saint Tail in which case they'll allow you to request 6 tapes.

Currently, the Cost/3 VHS price listed is the cheapest cost I saw to get 3 tapes for someone living in the US. Sometimes, there are various tapes being offered. Note that some people may offer good quality tapes while others offer poor quality tapes. I hope to update this page to reflect that later, but haven't done so yet.

When it says International Requests Accepted, it means requests outside of their country they live in, so look at the Location.

And please realize that I'm only human. I make mistakes. Please let me know when I've made them. It would also help if distros could update me with their new tapes/info when that changes.

When:

I do a major update on the page about every week or so. I do small updates as I get the updates in. It takes me no time at all to do a small update. (add a few entries or change some entries that I just got information on)
At the bottom of every single page, it should list the date that the ENTIRE homepage was last updated. If I change one entry, then all of the pages will reflect the new date.

Where:

I have a mirror of this site at http://www.fansubs.net. This is because sometimes this site goes down (not that often) or there are connection problems or whatever...

Why:

Well... I was kinda curious if I could change my code that I wrote for my Fansub Database and use it for a slightly different use. I went ahead and did that. Then, I wondered if I should go ahead and list distributors and their titles and so forth, trying to see if I'd have time to do it. I'm hoping I will. I figured since I made the code changes, I might as well use them :) Only time will tell if I'm able to keep this up to date.
If you find any errors or additions to make, please let me know. If you are a distributor, it's easier if you tell me what changes I need to make instead of me checking your homepage every few months.
Well, this hasn't kept on the "why" topic, so here's a bit more about why I made this page. I've also been fed up with how some distros overcharge by a whole lot. I've seen some distros who might charge 3 times what it actually costs them...others are close to even. It just makes me sick. So in an attempt to help steer people away from distros who charge too much, I'm listing prices and ranking them. I also plan to list some kind of cost index later which will be my own guess on how much people are charging versus how much it costs them. This is hard to do since some people use cheap tapes and others use expensive tapes and some don't say, but I'll try my best. Also, some people get tapes cheaper than other people do. Still...it'll be only my guess, but I think it'll give a good indication of who is actually doing this for the love of being a fan and who is doing this because they want some extra pocket money.
At least now you know some (some because this database will never ever be complete) of the titles that people have done and are doing without having to go and search out all the information yourself. Just please read the fansubbers' pages when they have one before you go asking them questions. Not all of my information I have here is correct by a long shot. Some fansubbers don't distribute or don't distribute any more. They may not even subtitle or be around anymore (thus, why a lot of them are not reachable) Please take this into consideration before you go bugging them. If you are trying to find a fansubber who is not listed, my best suggestion is to try to post to a newsgroup or mailing lists. If they don't respond or someone who knows them doesn't respond, someone else may who knows them. If not, either they are not contactable, or they just don't want to be contacted.

How:

All of the HTML files for this homepage have been created by a program I wrote. As I said before, I've made this program a bit more versatile now, so if anyone is interested in it, I can send it to them. However, it's not very user friendly I tend not to work on user-friendly stuff much since most of my projects are for myself. I only add stuff to help myself use it...
I made it so I can easily add more fields or lists or order of sorting stuff, etc...I can change the average file sizes of lists and tons of other stuff.
Other than that, it's simple HTML code...just a whole lot of it. I tried to make the HTML files small enough so they don't take forever to load. So instead of a few really really big HTML files for the different lists, I have a few hundred or thousand different HTML files... I also tried not to put any images here (or very small and repeated ones when I did) since that would slow down the loading time trying to find things. I may decide to make two versions with graphics and no graphics at a later date, but don't know if I should even bother.
This is using the same software as I used to create its sister page, The Fansub Database.

Welp...if you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me, but make sure you said you read this page first, else I'll probably send you back a nasty reply
