Hyper Police is a show which airs in Japan at 1:15am on channel 12 (TV Tokyo).
It is being replaced by a show called VIRUS for next season.
The last episode airs 9-25-1997.
There is a manga series of Hyper Police which currently has 4?
volumes. The first volume cover is shown to the right.
In the year 22 H.C. (Holy Century), Human beings are on the
brink of extinction, and Shinjuku is now a town where gemons, goblins,
and monsters lead an ordinary, everyday existance. Together
with the national police, a private police force has been formed
to maintain public peace and order amoung the diverse species.

Batanen Fujioka
He is the guy in the lower-right corner of the picture at the top of the page.

Abilities/skills: Hand-to-hand combat, shooting, has more lives than a cat.
Batanen is a werewolf and is Natsuki's senior at work. He is gone on
Natsuki, but acts like her guardian and hides his feelings as a man.

Natsuki is a nekomata half-blood, her father being a human and her
mother a nekomata (a feline moster with two tails). Normally, she has
only one tail, but it splits into two when she is angry.
She is generally openhanded, but displays unusual possessiveness
when it comes to her colleagues and work which she considers her
territory. She eats "neko-kan" (a popular equaniminity, but is pretty
fastidious, especially about sex.

Sakura is a bogy vixen with eight and one-fifth tails. She can fly at
Mach, but cannot turn herself into anything else, which is a source of
inferiority complex for her. She is a trueborn Osaka woman, and is
attached to money, but isn't particular about living conditions and
camps out without turning a hair. She also tends to be unconcerned
about other details so long as she has one gorgeous item that
she can be proud of.

Tommy is a werewolf and an information maniac. He is Natsuki's
junior at work. He is servile by nature and shows slavish devotion
to Poh.

File No. 1: "Bounty Hunter"
Natsuki Sasahara has just joined Police Company, one of the private police
forces. Her father is a human being and her mother, a nekomata, a
feline monster with two tails who can transform herself into many things.
At Police Company, Natsuki pairs off with Batanen Fujioka, a werewolf.
One day, a demon, a deadly criminal the two have been pursuiing and
referred to as "wanted criminal I-231" takes a hostage. The plan was
for Batanen to act as a decoy and Natsuki to shoot down the demon.
However, it ends in utter disaster, the bullet hitting Batanen
squarely in the head!
File No. 2: "Sakura, the Vixen with Nine Tails"
Sakura, a bogy vixen, wanders into Shinjuku from Kansai, the Kyoto-Osaka
area. It is her ambition to become a nine-tailed vixen. The
shortcut to achieving her ambition is to steal someone else's magical
powers. Sakura discovers Natsuki at the market, and is fascinated
by her strong supernatural powers. And thus Sakura decides to
approach Natsuki.
File No. 3: "The Dubious Combination"
Sakura, newly employed by Police Company, is paired off with Natsuki
who has been a year in the firm. Sakura discovers the
hiding place of a wanted criminal, and the two rush over to apprehend
him. Sakura was planning to use his arrest as an opportunity
to attack Natsuki, but the criminal escapes their hands in the end.
It was quite an inauspicious beginning for the pair.
File No. 4: "One Night, One Meal"
Three pigs are terrorizing the town with their bombings. Sakura decides
that they need to catch the criminals because the Mad Police Corporation
is making them look bad. They end up spending all day and night looking
for the criminals and ending up catching two of them. However...
