The Violinist of Hameln was shown on TV in Japan and also had a movie. The
TV series was based off of the manga while the movie did its own thing.
The TV series was very serious and dark while the movie was almost pure
comedy. It aired in 1996? It has since become a cult anime with a
number of followers.

Episode 1: "Requiem"
The first part of this episode takes place near the middle or so
of the series showing a battle between the "good" warriors and the
evil minions. Then we switch over to before this all has happened,
but the beginning of the end. Queen Horn's powers have been getting
weak and she is the only one who can stop the Hell King Bass from
breaking the barrier and bringing the demonic creatures to this world...
Or is she? We find out that there are many mysteries surrounding this
show and especially Hamel. Why does he wake up one day to discover
he has a horn on the top of his head? Who is this woman who he keeps
having flashbacks of her telling him that he has two ways to choose from?
This episode does not have an opening or an ending animation and song,
but it fills that time with useful plot information and animation.
It is the beginning of a great epic adventure.
Episode 2: "Destiny Of The Nutcracker, Marionette Version"
In this episode, Bass tries to attack Princess Flute with his skeleton
warriors. However, the townspeople are there to defend her, and that
they do...but at what cost? Hamel does not sit idle while this all is
happening. Instead, he plays the Nutcracker to give the men "courage."
Episode 3: "Swan Lake"
In this episode, we meet a new main character, Raiel. Raiel is a pianist
who is also able to play magical music, like Hamel can. He knows about
Hamel's past somewhat, since they had actually grown up together.
Hamel's mother had taught Raiel how to play the piano. What mysteries
surround their past and why can they play this magical music. Hell King Bass
has sent out a search for anyong playing magical music and has discovered
Raiel. Can the two succeed in fending off another attack from Bass's minions?
Episode 4: "Memories Of Anthem"
We find out about some more of Bass's head minions in this episode. There
seem to be three of them, Drum (the two-headed dragon), Guitar (the beast-man),
and Sizer. (the phoenix-woman) Also, we meet another of the heroes, Trombone.
He stumbles upon Flute when she is in a well...awkward situation :) He is
still a little kid, but can he defend Flute from the minions attacking her?
